Legend has it friselle were brought by Aeneas when he went ashore in Porto Badisco. These crisp-bread friselle are cut in half obliquely by a thread and then baked again in a very slow oven. In the past the frisella was the traditional meal of our farmers, who used to top it with fresh tomatoes, rughetta (salad herb rocket) and extra-virgin olive oil. Nowadays the frisella has become one of the most delicious meals in the Mediterranean diet.
